Bhaskar Murlidhar Bhagare is an Indian politician and the Member of Parliament for the Dindori (ST) Lok Sabha constituency in Maharashtra. Born into an ordinary family, he pursued post-graduate studies and worked for several years as a teacher, earning the affectionate moniker 'Bhagare Guruji' from his supporters. His deep roots in social work laid the foundation for his entry into grassroots politics. Associated with the Nationalist Congress Party since its inception in 1999, Bhagare rose through the ranks by focusing on the grievances of the rural and agrarian populace. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, contesting on the NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) ticket, he emerged as a 'giant killer' by defeating the incumbent Union Minister of State Bharati Pravin Pawar (BJP) with a significant margin. His campaign was largely fueled by discontent over agricultural policies, particularly the central onion export ban.
