He serves as the General Secretary of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) and is currently the Member of Parliament representing the Viluppuram (SC) constituency. Ravikumar holds multiple advanced degrees, including an M.A., Ph.D., and B.L. Before entering active politics, he was an influential human rights advocate and editor of the magazine Nirapirikai. He previously served as an MLA in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly (2006-2011) and was first elected to the Lok Sabha in 2019.
