Su. Venkatesan (born 16 March 1970) is an Indian Tamil writer and politician who has been serving as a Member of Parliament for the Madurai constituency since 2019. A member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)), he serves on the party's Tamil Nadu State Committee. As a prominent Tamil author, he is well-known for his historical novels, notably 'Kaval Kottam', which won the Sahitya Akademi Award in 2011, and the critically acclaimed 'Vel Pari'. Born in Harveypatti, Madurai, he holds a B.Com degree and was the editor of the magazine Semmalar. He is also the state honorary president of the Tamil Nadu Progressive Writers and Artists Association.
